About Lindsey Wheeler

Education: Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from James Madison University

Professional Specialties: She specializes in addressing the intersections of trauma and mental health within the child welfare system.

Lindsey Wheeler has worked as a foster care professional for several departments of social services. In this role, she focused on promoting family reunification while ensuring the safety and well-being of children. She is deeply passionate about empowering youth to break generational cycles of trauma. She meets individuals where they are, embracing them as they are, to foster meaningful change. Her dedication shines in her efforts to create a path toward healing and resilience for vulnerable populations. In her free time, Lindsey loves spending time with her two cats, Ivy and Olive, and her senior pug, Graham. 

Through her expertise, compassion, and drive to make a difference, Lindsey continues to be a vital advocate for children and families in need.

About Independent Living

Impact Living Services’ Independent Living program provides essential support for youth transitioning out of foster care into adulthood. With a focus on helping individuals build independence, the program offers a variety of resources, including housing, education, and employment assistance. Additionally, participants receive life skills training in areas like financial literacy and time management, all while being empowered to thrive. By offering comprehensive guidance and support, Impact Living Services ensures these young adults have the tools they need to succeed. Through this program, they foster independence, confidence, and a positive path toward adulthood.
