Why become a foster parent? Becoming a foster parent is a rewarding experience that can change the life of a child in need. You can provide a safe and loving home for a child who has experienced trauma, neglect or abuse. By becoming a foster parent, you can help a child heal and thrive.

What are the requirements to become a foster parent? To become a foster parent, you must be at least 21 years old, participate in individualized trauma informed parenting training, complete a background check, and have a stable source of income. You will go through a Home Study assessment with a team member of Impact Living Services. Whether you are single, married, have children of your own or not, we welcome all people to become part of our foster care community.

What support is available for foster parents? Foster parents receive ongoing support from Impact Living Services. This includes training, access to supportive team, and assistance with finding resources for the child. At Impact Living Services we provide 24/7 support so you never feel alone.How long do children stay in foster care? The length of time a child stays in foster care varies depending on the circumstances. Some children may only need a temporary placement while their parents receive support, while others may need a more permanent placement. The goal of foster care is always to reunite children with their birth families, but in some cases, children may be adopted by their foster families.
