About Roger Vance
Roger Vance brings a deeply personal perspective to his role on the Impact board, having experienced many of the same challenges faced by the youth the organization serves. After a childhood marked by instability and transition between Virginia and North Carolina, Roger entered the Virginia foster care system at age 14. He eventually found stability through the Bedford County Group Homes and, after multiple years in their independent living program, he recieved a scholarship to Liberty University and graduated in 2014 with a degree in Business Management.
Drawing on these formative experiences, Roger has built a successful career as an entrepreneur. In 2020, he launched a moving brokerage that has grown into the largest of its kind in the country. It currently employs more than 200 people. In addition, he has opened and operated three sober living homes and supported housing initiatives for children in need.
Roger’s passion for giving back is driven by gratitude. Gratitude for the systems and people who helped him along the way. Through his work with Impact, he is committed to creating opportunities for young people to build bright, successful futures—just as others once did for him.
