Impact Living Services (ILS) Behavior Specialists Services are provided to school-aged youth in an academic setting to aid in managing undesirable and/or maladaptive negative social and behavioral concerns.

    • Behavior Specialist Services offer one-to-one behaviorally driven solution-focused, strength-based support services between a Behavior Specialist and a youth for the purpose of addressing daily struggles in the academic setting related to social, coping, and communication needs that assist in social, emotional, and behavioral regulation.

    • Behavior Specialist services include supporting, coaching, and training the youth in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and relating appropriately to other children and adolescents, as well as adults pursuant to a behavioral health treatment plan developed by a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Professional Counselor Resident in concert with the family, the Behavioral Specialist, School staff, and youth whenever possible.

    • Services help to ensure the youth’s success in navigating various social contexts, learning new skills, and making functional progress, while the Behavior Specialist offers supervision of these interactions and engages the youth in discussions about strategies for effective handling of peer-peer and youth-educator interactions.

    • Behavior Specialist services are designed to achieve goals established in an existing behavioral health treatment plan for youth in the ILS Behavior specialist program, and progress toward meeting the identified goals are documented and reported regularly to the youth’s current service provider(s) and school personnel.
