Adoptive children and their families sometimes experience challenges following adoption. The goal of our Adoption Support and Preservation (ASAP) program is to provide post-adoptive intervention and support to adoptive families to aid in stabilizing and maintaining the adoptive home placement. This relationship focused approach to helping the family will work to strengthen the adoptive family bond, offer additional adoptive and behavioral knowledge and strategies, and work to create a functional support system that will allow for family growth in a nurturing environment.
ASAP services include case management, individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, mentoring, and resource linkage.
Services include multiple provider roles to aid in the best possible outcomes and advocacy opportunities.
Experienced therapists (primarily master’s level and/or licensed eligible therapists) meet families at their greatest level of need in their natural environment in a timely manner sufficient to address the immediate needs of the family.
Services take place in the client’s home or other identified environment to best resolve the identified issues and family needs. The setting in which services take place are based on the strategic planning between the therapists and the family and which best meets the individual and family needs.
Therapists are on call to their clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Families are given as much time as they need, when they need it. This accessibility also allows close monitoring of potentially dangerous situations.
